Halifax House Prices (May.)

UK Housing Market Data Response
Written by Capital Economics Economist

According to the Halifax index, house prices saw a fairly strong rise in May. Even so, the latest rise only partially reversed the large drop seen last month. As a result, house price inflation edged down below 2%. And looking ahead, with prices in London on a downward trajectory, we expect annual house price growth slip a little further, averaging around 1.5% over the rest of 2018.
