Scotland & N.I. to outperform, while the South recovers

There was a wide disparity in house price growth across regions in 2023 and little reason to think that this year will be any different. Following the recent decline in mortgage rates, we suspect the largest rises in prices will be in the regions that responded most to the fall in mortgage rates last spring. The most expensive areas in southern England are also likely to fare better as the particularly severe hit to demand from the spike in mortgage rates there unwinds.
