Global Aluminium Production (May)

Global aluminium output ticked up in May, driven by higher production in Asia ex-China and the GCC. We expect growth in output to accelerate over the coming months as higher prices and the prospect of US sanctions on Russia prompt producers elsewhere to ramp up capacity utilisation. This is a key reason underpinning our view that prices will end 2018 at $2,000 per tonne, down from $2,172 currently.
