Stocks continue to dwindle

It has been a quiet month for stock movements, with the exception of copper. However, the drop in LME copper stocks and surge in Shanghai inventories can be largely explained by price arbitrage opportunities rather than by underlying demand trends. More generally, stocks of all base metals, except lead, have fallen since the start of 2016.
