Economic data released this week cast some doubt on our forecast that euro-zone GDP growth will accelerate in the latter part of this year. Meanwhile, the EU-US joint statement on trade, also released this week, marks a small step forward in the still-long road towards a full trade agreement. Next week, we expect to learn that the euro-zone ESI and German Ifo remained weak in August.
