The SNB is sure to leave its policy rate unchanged at zero next week. And higher oil and gas prices, as well as our revised ECB forecast, mean we think rate cuts are now unlikely this year. However, the pass-through from energy prices to inflation will be modest in Switzerland and upward pressure on the franc will dampen any inflation impact. So the bar for rate hikes is higher for the SNB than the ECB.
