While the Caixin manufacturing PMI edged down last month, the survey was conducted too early to tell us much about the extent of the economic damage from the Coronavirus outbreak. The February survey data will almost certainly point to a significant drag on activity from the virus, with policymakers likely to take further action in the coming weeks to soften the blow.
