Consumer Prices (Mar.)

Falling gasoline price inflation led to a drop in the headline inflation rate to 1.6% in March, from 2.0%, and core inflation dipped further below the 2% mid-point of the Bank of Canada’s target range. The slowdown in unit labour costs growth over the past year will keep core inflation below the target mid-point for some time.
