Mixed results from the Bank’s latest surveys

  • The Bank of Canada’s quarterly business and consumer surveys remain consistent with weak GDP growth and generally show that inflation expectations are normalising, but the latter are still too high and raise the risk that the Bank will wait to see developments in the next surveys in July before it cuts interest rates.
