Eviction ban increases downside in 2021

News that the government has extended the ban on commercial property evictions will be welcomed by tenants, especially in the hard-hit retail and hospitality sectors. But, already facing high levels of rent arrears, this will be a further strain on landlords. We don’t think this will bring systemic risks yet, though it will add to the growing weight of downside to property performance next year.
