Tight fiscal policy in the Gulf, Saudi labour market

We think that the recent rise in oil prices has further to run over the next twelve months, but this is unlikely to pave the way for fiscal loosening in the Gulf. Meanwhile, data released this week showed a fall in the unemployment rate among Saudi nationals, but it remains well above the government’s target and the Kingdom has moved further away from meeting some of the key goals of Vison 2030.
