Russia GDP (2020)

The full-year decline in Russian GDP of 3.1% in 2020 suggests that the economy expanded slightly in Q4 as the authorities opted for light-touch containment measures in response to the second virus wave. But Russia’s vaccination programme is taking time to get off the ground and, with fiscal policy likely to be less supportive this year, the recovery may struggle to gain momentum.
