Rise in infections won’t stop economy rebounding

The rise in new infections in a handful of states across the South and West is nothing like the national surge we saw in late-March and early April that triggered widespread lockdowns. It does illustrate that the background risk of infection and continued requirement for physical distancing will persist, however, which could yet prevent a full economic recovery further ahead.
