Rubio in Lat Am, Brazil slows, Buenos Aires votes

Marco Rubio's trip to Latin America this week highlighted the US’s growing focus on the region - and particularly efforts to curb drug trafficking. The next thing to watch is Colombia's narcotics certification, which is due for renewal by the middle of the month. Elsewhere, the slowdown in Brazil's economy last quarter takes growth closer to more sustainable rates. And finally, a poor showing for Argentine President Milei's party in the local election in the province of Buenos Aires on Sunday would probably put renewed downward pressure on the peso.
