The latest business surveys suggest that global manufacturing growth picked up last month. Markit’s global manufacturing PMI, released earlier today, climbed from 51.0 to 52.0 in October, its highest level in two years. On the basis of past form, it is consistent with solid global economic growth of about 3.5%.
