Singapore lockdown extension, deflation arrives

The decision by Singapore’s government to extend and toughen its lockdown will further reduce economic output this year. We are cutting our GDP forecast again. Meanwhile, the most recent batch of inflation data for March show that a number of countries fell into deflation last month. Inflation is likely to fall further across the region in the coming months. A period of entrenched deflation is a possibility for some places.
