Even if the higher courts uphold the order to remove Trump's Liberation Day tariffs, we doubt this would result in a lasting tariff reduction for China. Both Trump's love for tariffs and the geopolitical tensions between the US and China remain firmly in place, and there are various other legal avenues through which the Trump administration could impose duties on China. US tariffs on China will settle at high levels.
