The fourth consecutive rise in home sales in July means that the housing market is developing close to our expectations, with prices stabilising last month. Housing starts recorded another strong month, with multi-family starts rising to their highest level on record. Amid weaker immigration and falling rents, however, we do not expect the strength in starts to last.
