Existing Home Sales (Sep.)

Following two months of gains, existing home sales dropped back in September. Given mortgage applications for home purchase have been more-or-less flat over the past few months, that decline in activity was to be expected. A lack of inventory, tightening credit conditions and growing concerns around the economic outlook all argue against any recovery in sales over the next year or so.
