House price declines will slow, but the correction will drag on for longer (Q3 2009)

House price falls are slowing and the economic outlook no longer looks as gloomy as it did at the turn of the year. Yet, while the housing market correction may proceed more slowly than we envisaged previously, the floor for house prices is not yet in sight. We expect prices to fall by 10% this year and by a further 5% in both 2010 and 2011.
