Inflation has further to fall

The decision by Brazil’s central bank earlier this month to cut interest rates once again has raised concerns in some quarters about the outlook for inflation over the rest of this year. As it happens, inflation in most countries (including Brazil) has slowed since the start of this year. What’s more, we expect it to fall further over the coming months as the effects of last year’s spike in food and energy prices unwind.
