Emerging markets will not rescue the rest of the world

Emerging market economies will continue to grow rapidly over the next few years. But with current account surpluses in most of Asia and among oil producers likely to remain high, this will not be of much benefit to the developed world. What’s more, while some emerging economies are likely to become an increasingly important source of global demand, there is a growing risk of asset bubbles, with Latin American countries looking particularly vulnerable.
