Canadian oil no longer selling at a discount

The steady rise in Canadian oil prices over the past few months has, in the case of light sweet crude, left them back on par with international benchmarks. Canada's energy producers have benefitted from the reconfiguration of pipelines at the US Cushing hub. Exporters have also made much greater use of rail networks, trucks and barges to transport oil to the US. Accordingly, the days when Canadian oil sold at a steep discount appear to be over.
