There is considerable uncertainty surrounding our forecast that GDP will increase by 1.2% next year, but we have a relatively high conviction in our call that core PCE inflation will be very close to the 2% target by mid-2024. Nevertheless, even small errors in those forecasts could lead to markedly different paths for monetary policy, particularly in scenarios where inflation remains more elevated.
