Reasons for optimism on the Norwegian krone

The recent depreciation of the Norwegian krone might have further to run, but we think that rising energy prices and improved investor risk appetite will cause it to strengthen in the second half of the year. Data released next week are likely to show that Sweden’s economy expanded in Q4, but we think that it will contract in the first quarter of this year.
