Qatar’s economy has been dealt a much larger blow from the Iran war than many of its Gulf neighbours. So long as traffic through the Strait of Hormuz flows more freely from early next year, as we assume, the economy will recover and the expansion of the North Field will provide an additional lift. By the end of 2028, real GDP could be some 25% higher than its level prior to the Iran war.
