Foreign investors returned as net buyers of Indian equities over the past month. But we doubt this marks the start of a sustained or broad-based recovery in confidence toward India’s equity market. With much of the optimism around its growth outlook already priced in and other emerging markets offering more attractive near-term opportunities, we expect India’s equity market to resume underperforming over the coming year.
