Government bond yields likely to rise further

A reassessment of the prospects for monetary policy has contributed to a significant, and similarly-sized, rise in 10-year government bond yields in the US and Europe over the past month. We expect the sell-off to continue in the second half of 2017. However, we anticipate that it will be bigger in the US than in Europe, as the Fed tightens by more than investors are anticipating.
