Russia Consumer Prices (May)

Russian inflation picked up slightly to 2.5% y/y in May and we think it will rise above the central bank’s 4% target in the coming months. Against a backdrop of large upside inflation risks and the hawkish tone from the central bank earlier today, we think interest rates will be hiked by 50bp to 8.00% by year-end.
