In a week dominated by President Trump’s pursuit of Greenland, it is perhaps ironic that an anticipated blast of cold air from the Arctic has sent the price of natural gas in the US soaring. Henry Hub prices will surely fall back as and when weather conditions warm up. But given the combination of AI-related demand and tighter domestic supply as LNG exports ramp up, we still forecast prices to end this year ~50% higher than their pre-pandemic average.
