Bank of Canada Policy Announcement (Mar 2026)

The Bank of Canada sounded marginally dovish while keeping its key policy rate at 2.25% today, stating that the growth outlook had worsened and that it would look through the Iran war’s immediate impact on inflation. This supports our view that investors have gotten ahead of themselves in pricing in rate hikes later this year.
