Retail Sales (Jul.) & Teranet House Prices (Aug.)

The modest decline in core retail sales in July was partly because households transitioned back to spending on services following the re-opening of the economy. We do not interpret the drop as a sign of weakness, particularly given the preliminary data point to a further rise in overall retail sales in August.
