Canada Weekly: Industry support ramps up as trade negotiations slow

The recent ramp-up in support for auto and steel manufacturers suggests the federal government is serious about holding out for a better trade deal with the US, even if that means missing the August 1st deadline. Not least given that the punishment for doing so would be only a slight rise in the effective tariff rate which Canadian exporters to the US face.
