In-Person Event

UK Economy Roundtable – Can the UK economy weather more fiscal and political changes?

Capital Economics, 100 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 5JL

Speakers:

Can the UK economy shrug off more political uncertainty? Will Rachel Reeves use her fiscal statement on 3rd March to strengthen the government’s position ahead of May’s local elections? Who will be UK Chancellor at the time of the Autumn Budget?

Our economists will explore these questions and others in a special in-person roundtable at our London office on Tuesday 24th February.

This is your chance to hear their latest thinking, ask questions, and exchange views with peers. In this hour-long informal discussion, the team will be addressing key issues including:

  • The Chancellor’s headroom: Whether the fiscal tide is turning;
  • Regime change: What would happen to the economy and gilts if Starmer/Reeves are replaced;
  • An AI productivity boom?: Whether AI is already influencing the labour market and growth.

We are hosting three sessions: 9:00am12:30pm and 3:30pm. Please select which session you would like to attend in the form below.
