Housing Starts (Mar.)

Both single and multifamily housing starts recorded large declines in March, as the coronavirus cut housing demand and disrupted the ability of homebuilders to work. Single-family starts will see further declines over the next couple of months, to around 700,000 annualised, but are well-placed to recover once the disruption from the virus has passed.
