Pace of house price declines may be letting up

The pace of house price declines has eased in recent months and forward indicators suggest there may be a further slowdown ahead. However, we still expect houses prices to fall by 15% from their peak. And with mounting signs that the housing downturn is weighing on homebuilding, we still expect dwellings investment to fall sharply this year.
