US Consumer Sentiment (Oct 2025)

Consumer sentiment edged down to a five-month low  of 55.0 in October, from 55.1, as a cocktail of labour market weakness, above-target inflation and, potentially, the ongoing government shutdown weighed on household sentiment too. Despite this gloom, we continue to expect actual consumer spending growth in the fourth-quarter to ease but remain fairly healthy.
