S&P Global/CIPS Construction PMI (Feb.)

The headline CIPS construction index rebounded back into expansionary territory in February and the forward-looking indicators also showed further improvement. Commercial developers may be taking advantage of lower input prices and reduced delivery times to ramp up activity now in advance of the economic recovery next year. But, given the upcoming recession this year, we still expect a sharp fall in housing starts.
