The pick-up in the German Ifo chimes with that in the Composite PMI released on Friday and suggests that the German economy may be past the worst. This would be in line with our view that economy will pick up gradually in the coming quarters, although we continue to think that the fiscal stimulus will disappoint and growth will remain weaker than most expect.
