What to make of mixed messages on the US labour market

Today’s plunge in the employment component of the US ISM services survey more than took the shine off a slightly stronger than expected US Employment Report. In doing so, it appears to have called at least a temporary halt to the recent correction in the Treasury market that had pushed the 10-year yield back up above 4%.
