Canada Retail Sales (Apr 2025)

The rise in retail sales in April showed consumer spending remained resilient to tariffs at the start of the second quarter. That said, the grisly flash estimate for May suggests the economy will slow over the second half of the year, opening the door for the Bank of Canada to resume cutting interest rates.
