SA avian flu, Mozambique LNG hopes, CE Spotlight

South Africa is in the midst of a severe avian flu outbreak which, coming alongside the effects of loadshedding, has prompted fears of shortages and higher prices for eggs and chicken meat. But this is unlikely to worry the SARB too much, which is focussed on broader inflation and fiscal risks. Elsewhere, TotalEnergies held an investor day in New York this week during which there were further strong hints that construction of a key LNG project in Mozambique will soon be restarted.
