Home prices jumped in March by the most since 2013

“The surge in prices, coupled with a modest rise in mortgage interest rates, has stretched affordability, and that is starting to weigh on housing demand,” Matthew Pointon, senior property economist at Capital Economics, said in a report. “Mortgage applications for home purchase have been trending down since March, and that dip in demand is now being reflected in home sales.”
