US inflation compensation revisited

US Treasury yields rose sharply following the release of US CPI inflation figures, which showed that inflation reached 6.2% y/y in October, reversing some of their recent falls. But, despite the pick-up in breakeven inflation in the bond market over the past few weeks, we think that investors are still underestimating the likely strength of price pressures further down the line.
