US International Trade (Sep)

The trade deficit narrowed markedly to $52.8bn in September, from $59.3bn, as exports increased by 3.0% m/m, easily outpacing a 0.6% m/m gain in imports. It now appears that third-quarter GDP growth was 4.0% annualised, as a 6.6% increase in exports and a 5.3% decline in imports resulted in net trade adding 1.5% points to overall GDP.
