REITs and appraisals divergence clouds outlook for values
A significant divergence in sector weightings means a large performance gap has opened between REITs and the appraisal-based indices over the last two years. We have therefore created a re-weighted REITs measure to feed into our Capital Value Lead Indicator, although this still points to stronger growth in capital values over the second half of the year than we expect.
