EC Survey (July)

The small fall in the EC Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) in July leaves it consistent on past form with output stagnating and suggests that, despite the stronger-than-expected Q2 GDP data reported today for some economies, the euro-zone started Q3 on a weak footing. Meanwhile, the ESI suggests that price pressures are gradually easing but remain high, particularly in the services sector.
