China Weekly: China-US trade rerouting in Trump’s crosshairs

Given its trade truce with the US, China isn’t at much risk of being hit with higher duties when the 90-day pause on Liberation Day tariffs ends next week. But Trump’s trade deals with the UK and Vietnam suggest the country may remain an indirect target. It seems that Trump is keen to crack down on the rerouting of Chinese exports via third countries, which has diminished the effectiveness of US tariffs. Doing so will be much easier said than done, however.
