The pick-up in manufacturing sales in December was largely due to a rebound in auto sales following a temporary disruption in the prior month. While the survey evidence is showing some tentative signs of improvement, we expect trade uncertainty to continue to weigh on the sector in coming months as CUSMA renegotiations get underway.
