South Africa’s economy rebounded in Q3, with a 1.6% q/q expansion, but the underlying picture was less rosy as growth was supported by a build-up of inventories; household spending contracted . Persistent headwinds (e.g. electricity cuts) and weak external demand will hold back growth in the coming quarters.
